Grant PalSync temporary Shopify collaborator access

Use Shopify's revocable collaborator workflow when hands-on investigation is required.

Written by Mike Hammon

Collaborator access is temporary, scoped, and merchant-approved

Most PalSync issues can be diagnosed from the app, safe identifiers, and the attached PostHog session context. If two guided attempts do not resolve the issue, a PalSync teammate may ask for Shopify collaborator access.

What PalSync will ask for

  1. Your exact .myshopify.com store domain.

  2. The 4-digit collaborator request code from Shopify Admin → Settings → Users → Security.

  3. Explicit consent for the minimum permissions needed to inspect the reported workflow.

  4. The diagnostic packet for the affected order, historical request, dispute, or billing period.

What happens next

  1. A verified PalSync teammate submits the request from Shopify's Dev Dashboard.

  2. Shopify notifies the merchant.

  3. The merchant reviews the requested permissions in Settings → Users and accepts or rejects the request.

  4. PalSync confirms the investigation scope before making any change.

  5. After resolution, PalSync summarizes what was inspected or changed and the merchant can revoke access.

Safety rules

  • Never send a password, two-factor code, session cookie, API key, PayPal credential, or payment credential.

  • PalSync will not claim that access is active until Shopify shows the request as approved.

  • Billing, authentication, scopes, refunds, security, privacy, destructive changes, and dispute submissions remain human-controlled.

  • Ask which exact permissions are needed; do not grant broad store access by default.

If you do not want to grant collaborator access, continue in Messenger with screenshots and a redacted diagnostic packet.
