Use the case timeline to close the loop
After a response, PayPal can move the case to buyer response, review, another lifecycle stage, or resolution. Refresh the case and read Case activity in time order. Merchant messages, attachments, webhook receipt, synchronization attempts, errors, retries, and PayPal state changes form the operational audit trail.
Appeal eligibility
An appeal is not available for every resolved case.
The case appears under Appeal available only when PayPal currently exposes the appeal action.
Review the buyer-favor outcome, lifecycle stage, and newly requested evidence.
Prepare information that was not already considered; repeating the old package is not a useful appeal.
Submit an appeal
Select Appeal decision.
Use the appeal reason PayPal allows, such as New Evidence.
Explain what the new evidence changes.
Add tracking, carrier, URL, refund IDs, or PayPal item ID only when relevant.
Attach the new evidence files and review the package.
Submit once, then wait for the activity result.
Resolved-case follow-up
Record the outcome, decision time, submitted evidence, and business follow-up such as refund, inventory adjustment, carrier claim, or policy change. If the timeline or outcome looks inconsistent, send support the dispute ID, transaction ID, Shopify order, lifecycle stage, outcome, relevant timestamps, and screenshot. Never include credentials.
