Complete setup before relying on PalSync
1. Confirm subscription access
Approve the subscription shown by Shopify. Paid features such as creating Courier Mapping rules, turning on Courier Mapping, turning on Digital orders, and submitting Historical Orders require an active paid PalSync plan. Trial and billing dates shown in Settings and Usage are authoritative for the store.
2. Connect every receiving PayPal account
Open Settings.
Select Add another PayPal account.
Authorize the PayPal account that actually receives store payments.
Repeat for every receiving account.
Confirm the intended default account and check Active or Inactive state for every row.
3. Configure fulfillment handling
Keep Digital orders off unless an order can be truthfully completed without a physical shipment.
Turn on Map by courier name only when you need exact Shopify-to-PayPal carrier substitutions.
Create a mapping only for carrier text PalSync does not already resolve correctly.
4. Verify realtime order sync
Fulfill a test or recent order that has a known PayPal transaction.
Open Orders and locate the Shopify order.
Allow In Queue or Processing to reach a terminal result.
For Success, verify the Synced to PayPal timestamp.
For Missing Info or Failed, correct the source data before retrying.
5. Validate disputes
Open Disputes, select Refresh from PayPal, and verify a case can show the PayPal transaction, Shopify order link, status, lifecycle stage, deadline, timeline, evidence, and available actions. Monitoring may be on, but each response still requires merchant approval.
6. Plan Historical Orders once
Choose the earliest date needed and include the full required range. A confirmed historical request consumes one token, only one user request is allowed per UTC day, and the request runs through today.
Launch evidence packet
Keep one verified example with the Shopify order number, PayPal transaction ID, fulfillment timestamp, carrier text, tracking number, PalSync status, and Synced to PayPal timestamp. This becomes the baseline for later troubleshooting.
